Nee. Het hashing-proces gebruikt de `SubtleCrypto` interface in uw browser om het bestand lokaal te lezen. Uw gegevens blijven volledig op uw machine.

Welk hash-algoritme moet ik gebruiken?

SHA-256 is de huidige standaard voor beveiligings- en integriteitscontroles. MD5 en SHA-1 zijn beschikbaar voor oudere compatibiliteit, maar worden niet langer als cryptografisch veilig beschouwd tegen opzettelijke manipulatie.

Kan ik zeer grote bestanden hashen?

Ja. Omdat de browser het bestand rechtstreeks vanaf uw lokale schijf leest zonder te uploaden, kunt u bestanden van meerdere gigabytes snel hashen, alleen beperkt door de hardwaresnelheid van uw apparaat.

Waarom komt de hash niet overeen met die van de auteur?

Zelfs een verschil van één byte resulteert in een volledig andere hash. Zorg ervoor dat het bestand volledig is gedownload en dat u het vergelijkt met de controletest van de juiste versie.
