›What's the difference between encodeURI and encodeURIComponent?

encodeURIComponent escapes more characters (like / and ?), making it safe for query string values. We use it by default — the right choice for most cases.

›When do I need URL encoding?

Any time you put special characters (spaces, &, ?, #, accented letters) in a URL — query strings, path segments, fragments, anywhere.

›Are spaces encoded as %20 or +?

Both work. We use %20 by default (RFC 3986). + is only safe in query strings and is form-encoding, not URL-encoding.

›Is my input sent anywhere?
